The Half That Got Away

by biggirlnoddy

You said we'd go to the same uni next year.

We looked forward to our lives together.

We talked about our plans.

We agreed to strive hard together.

The day we checked the result,

I called you,

happily jumping,

excitedly told you that I've got in.

But you said,

"Sorry, but I've decided not to further my studies with you anymore. It is better that we end the relationship here. Goodbye."

I never managed to get in touch with you ever since.

After all the plans that we've spent nights talking about.

I believed in you, in us, and in the future that we're going to stay by each other

no matter how hard life's gonna hit on us.

A future that once have you and me.

A dream that is meant for you and me.

But all that's left is me.

Now that I've graduated. I sometimes still wonder how you've been doing.

I surely hope that you regret leaving me here, but I'm grateful enough that I've moved on, leaving all the scars that you left me years ago.
